Question:
Where do I find good quality home appliances?

Are there any brands left in the U.S. that manufacture quality built home appliances that do their job and have a good longevity? I'm moving into a new house, and I currently have no appliances. Not even a microwave; I need to purchase everything.

I need a refrigerator/freezer, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and a washer/dryer.

Miele, Whirlpool, and Thermador are three manufacturers that I've read a considerable amount of positive comments for. The majority of consumers really praised Miele and Whirlpool. My question is: Miele is German, do they produce appliances for the U.S.? Can I see those appliances in stores?

Money is not an issue, but at the same time, I'm not looking to buy appliances meant for a 5-star restaurant, you know?

Consumer Reports Annual Buying guide has tests on items. Public libraries have it. Also monthly issues have reports as they test new items. There is also a frequency of repair chart by appliance showing, for example the dishwasher makes according to the fewest and most repairs. There is no one brand that universally is the "best". And a brand that is best one year may fall the next.

Dishwasher: I have been greatly satisfied with Bosch mid and upper price range. However they now make some low end models and I'm not certain they are better than others in their price range. I have also had great luck with GE dishwashers as far as longevity in my rental units.

Washer/dryer: We have had great performance from our LG front load washer and dryer. Washer is NOT the steam version.

Refrigerators: I have used GE in my rentals and absolutely no issues. However I sell them on craigslist after about 8 years because a service call costs more than they are worth.

Miele certainly does produce appliances for the US market.

You will find the better appliances at appliance stores, Ones that only sell appliances, because you may not find better appliances at a big box store.

Then there's this company: https://www.dacor.com
