Sometimes I will hear a whistling sound in my house. It ususally sounds like it is coming through the vents and the whistling will be different pitches/lengths. I am assuming it is the ducts, but what are some other possibilities? I do not computley rule out the paranormal (I believe oin that stuff), but I don't know.

~Thank you!

lol @paranormal. new or old house don't think that your house is zip lock bag tight lol of course any house will start to make those sounds ,i know with mine its the roofs vents. sometimes its our ac, so don't worry much about that till you start seeing the paranormal or feel air coming in your house and a door or window is not opened etc.

It could be your water heater. Mine whistles sometimes when it's heating the water. Chances are it's by the furnace to you would hear it through the ducts.Next time you hear it go and listen to it.

GHOST ARE TV AND MOVIE CREATION AND SCARED MINDS.

IMPROPERLY SEALED WINDOWS-DOORS ARE MAIN REASON PEOPLE HEARS

AIR NOISES ALONG WITH ATTIC AIR FLOW. AIR SEEPS INTO ATTIC FROM ROOMS FROM THESE SOURCES (INCLUDING POORLY SEALED FLOOR VENTS) AND IS PULLED OR PUSHED THRU SMALLER HOLES ( CREATING VACUUM-SUCTION) THUS NOISE IS MADE.

ALWAYS CHECK. PEOPLE (REMEMBER SAFETY???????) CAN USE A LIGHTED CANDLE.

MOVING AIR AROUND DOORS/WINDOWS (VENTS WITH AC/HEAT OFF) ALWAYS CAUSE CANDLE FLAME TO FICKER. SEALS ALL THESE AREAS. HOT AND COLD AIR ESCAPES FROM HOMES AND WASTE YOUR BIG DOLLARS. HOT AND COLD AIR ESCAPES FROM

ROOMS INTO ATTICS. WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE ALSO. SEAL ALSO. INSULATE ATTIC.

ATTIC NOT A STORAGE ROOM. INSULATE. CLOSE. LEAVE SHUT. I PUT VENTS IN EAVES OF MY HOME (S) TO LET ATTIC PULL COOL AIR IN AND PUSH HOT AIR OUT. STORM WINDOWS I NEVER OPEN STAY SHUT. SEALED AGAINST IN/OUT AIR FLOW. ONLY WINDOWS IN KITCHEN/BATHROOM AREAS CAN OPEN OPEN AND THEY ARE SPECIAL STORM WINDOWS.
