I rent a house and now that the weather turned warmer, a bunch of ants came over, they even invited all their friends and family, aunts AND uncles! Everyone! They are having a reunion in my house. :(

So how do I get rid of all of them? I am not even able to eat because there are ants everywhere. EW.
Please help. Which ant trap is the best? and where is it best to put them?

Get some Terro. It's a bait that you put out, the ants take it back to the nest and the Terro kills the entire nest. You can get it in a little bottle of liquid that you make your own ant baits with bottle caps or you can buy the already made baits you just sit out.

It's borax based and works like a charm. Because the ants have to take it back to the nest, it is not an immediate kill product and for it to really get rid of the problem, you have to let them take it back. But you will see a big difference in a day or two and the whole problem will be gone in less than a week.

The packaging says for sweet eating ants but I've used it for all kinds of ants and they will all eat it. They are opportunistic and always looking for a free meal which in this case is their demise.

Just be sure to read and follow the package directions. I've tried all brands of these things and Terro is the only one I can count on to actually deal with the issue. Put the baits where you see the ants, just to make it easier for them to find the stuff.

Torror gel is good. It can be put in cracks and hard to reach places. Putting a soggy cracker in a little container and putting the gel on the cracker will draw the ants to it. Doing the same with baking powder and sugar or borax cleaner will work too. If you do not have animals or kids putting one of these in the middle of the kitchen floor can show you what they like. If the ants are attracted to sugar. If they do not go for sugar, add a dab of meat like sausage to the baits. You can find the gel in places like Lowes, hardware stores and Wal Mart and beside the gels of different kinds you will see other things for killing ants.

Hi. Last summer, we had ants ALL over the ENTIRE kitchen coming from our basement, and we put some cheese or sugary food on the counters. Then when the ants came to get them we vacuumed them up in a little vacuum. They were gone in about 10 minutes and we sprayed Bug-Off! where they went the most. Hope this helps:]

I've had excellent results using borax. Sprinkle power along base boards all around the house. Will also rid house of roaches. I also sprinkle (more heavily) around foundation of house. Nothing wrong with using insect sprays containing pyrethrin and rotenone . Be careful around aquariums though. Rotenone will kill fish. Harmless to warm blooded animals.
