Insects will always fly to the highest point around them. Next time, try holding your hat in the air and they will fly right to it.

Just like the movie ... Mimic (1997)

Tagline: For thousands of years, man has been evolution's greatest creation... until now.

Plot Outline Three years ago entomologist Dr. Susan Tyler genetically created an insect to kill cockroaches carrying a virulent disease, now the insects are out to destroy their only predator, mankind!

Plot Synopsis: A disease carried by common cockroaches is killing Manhattan children. In an effort to stop the epidemic an entomologist, Susan Tyler, creates a mutant breed of insect that secretes a fluid to kill the roaches. This mutant breed was engineered to die after one generation, but three years later Susan finds out that the species has survived and evolved into a large, gruesome monster that can mimic human form.

Roaches DO chase people! My husband laughs at this theory, but now I have your question to back me up.

In the crummy dump of an apartment that we lived in long, long ago, whenever my husband would open the window at night, a roach would fly in. I would usually be sitting in the living room, and the roach would fly STRAIGHT AT ME!

It did not merely fly to the highest point, because I was sitting.

It never flew to my husband, who is not scared of them, but to me, who is scared spitless of them.

I am convinced that roaches sense fear and disgust, and they are strongly attracted to it.

The answerer who said that roaches never fly to him is probably not SCARED of roaches -- that's why they don't fly to him.

See? They really do chase some people and not others!

You're wrong on that one, I was asleep to wake up and found a cockroach doubled size dead on my bed, and a love bite on my chest.

Once I was having a bath and went for the towel, all of a sudden three big ones were touring all over me, being naked they were dead in seconds as I went jumping up and down like crazy.

That is a good question, well, I guess they just want to scare us, its pretty scary to me. The sound of their wings when they flap makes me run like a dog when I hear them.

'Palmetto bugs' will fly at your head. Don't run from them but hit them with your shoe.
