Precautions cleaning up rat droppings?
We had a rat or rats in our garage. An exterminator got rid of them, but there are droppings in the garage.
How do I clean it up? Several years ago there was a virus found in rat droppings, and special care was needed to clean and dispose of the droppings.

You are referring to Hantavirus, it is found in rodent droppings and goes air born when you sweep them up or vacuum them up. More people get sick from Hantavirus each year than have ever gotten sick from mold. It makes you wonder why there is so much publicity about mold and none about Hantavirus.

The proper way to clean up rodent droppings is with a damp cloth or paper towel that makes all the air borne particles stick to it. Dispose of the damp cloth and droppings in the garbage can.

After you clean up the droppings, spray the areas with a bleach and water solution to kill any leftover bacteria.

hi, i in my view very own puppy rats and cleansing up poop is a on an universal basis ingredient for me, yet my rats are all muddle knowledgeable... Wild rat feces are no longer likely be diseased (yet its poo so of course its nasty, that doesnt propose diseased) that's incredibly no longer likely for it to break you. basically pull on a pair of rubber gloves and %. it up. that is going to likely be dry besides so its no enormous deal. via the way, did you be responsive to the bubonic plauge replaced into truthfully unfold via the fleas on the rat, no longer the rats themselfs? Cheers, Joanne Kangaroo
