When my mother passed away, I hung the memorial flowers upside down in a dark cool place until they dried. They kept their color that way. Then I flaked them off the stems into a clear potpourri jar with a lid. Everyone who doesn't know what it is thinks it looks so decorative and asks where I bought the potpourri.

hi. i can save a vase of cut back plant life looking acceptable for 6 weeks or extra by capacity of : -changing the water another day -cut back the stems diagonally each 4 days -putting a teaspoon of sugar interior the water every time that's replaced -protecting the vase sparkling -removing ineffective and wilted leaves from the stems whilst needed I under no circumstances use the financial flower nutrition. i locate that it makes the water slimy and reasons the stems to rot immediately. reliable success! My daughter likes to dry her rose petals. She presses them between 2 of my stoneware cookie sheets into an oven after it's turned off yet warm.

But you can also press them into a book and put some weight on it and leave it sit for a couple of weeks. There are also commercial silica powders for drying flowers, check your local craft store or the craft section of a discount store.

You dip the flowers in some wax and hang it upside down for about a day. That should prevent any moisture from coming in and the wax will keep the roses preserved.
