Way too much information:

Garage sale signs You need:

Huge Garage Sale

address

Date

And an arrow pointing to your house.

It is best if you put 2-3 signs in several directions.

Make sure your writing is large enough to see from a moving car.

No one is going to read all that then decide if they are coming. The word huge will get the traffic. Nothing better than a bug sale. Now remember this is a garage sale not a retail shop. So don't price your items so high they will be back in your house at the end of the day.

Yes I would go to your garage sale, that makes it even bette when you tell customers what you have. Yes some people may not bother because we will say boy clothes they dont need them so they go to the next but I have a six year old and always needs new clothes... I think it would be a awsome sign but you dont have to list what you have make that the newspaper add. For the street signs Just write Garage Sale, 7/30/06 8am-3pm

that will be ok too.Either way garage are usually a great hit if you live in the city as well..

Good luck with your sale.

Don't go all out on this... four or five signs around the neighborhood will do. Maybe one sign in a store.

If I were you, I'd get rid of all the sizes and stuff. Be general- people don't want to read all that. Just saying "Clothes for all ages, sizes, and genders" will work. For the miscellaneous, again, don't be too specific- saying "Electronics, games, furiniture" will work.

I wouldn't start the sale at 8 AM... people come around 2 hours earlier. No exxaggeration. At my family yard sale last week the signs said to start at 10 and the first person came at 8:15. You get no breaks. And yes, we put "No early birds" too.

Additionally, if its not too late, you might want to advertise in your local newspaper.

Way to much information...You want people to come to the sale so "draw" them there.

Leave out the size information on the clothes...you want basic signs

Garage Sale

Saturday ONLY

(address)

8am-3pm

Clothing, misc. items, household items

Doors open at 8 am SHARP

Cash Only

(directions)

If I wear a size 5, I won't be coming to your sale no matter what, but if you leave out some of the information, then I would stop just to see if you have anything I could use

Heck yeah I'd go. That one says alot not like the others I've seen where they just tell you it's a sale and what time it starts and where. It's very informative! By the way, unless you have to leave by 3, you may want to put a question mark instead. That way you will have a chance to sell most of your stuff. Try to let people know you plan on packing up by about 5 if you still have them looking.

Cut your flyer to 1/4 of what you are saying, really, and if you

don't need to handle the cash only until day of sale.

I have always placed an ad in the paper (nite) before. . for only

one day - plus a VERY LARGE SIGN IN THE FRONT YARD.

I have ALWAYS had more people than I could handle alone.

always have plenty of help if you choose this way to go.

It really is worth it - a great money maker.

good luck

Yes, I love garage sales. (Does have too much info on clothes) Could just put clothes, lamps, furniture and miscellaneous items. Make it simple because it is too much to read if i am driving by.

The info looks good!! I wouldn't go though, since there isn't anything that I'm interested in. There's lots of info, but not too much that people wouldn't bother looking at it. Great work!

When I got extra cash ,I'll stop at a garage or yard sale.

I have found great bargains on stuff (Beverage glasses,t-shirts,

televisions,etc...). I would check yours out.
