You could look at public housing(the projects). Maybe you could get on section 8.

You're looking at roughly $1600-$3500 per month. Try craigslist.com (click on Los Angeles). But be careful, Long Beach is not so nice is many areas.



And to the answer above me, Its not as much as O.C. that's for sure. Try to stay in LA county and it will be slightly less.
