I have used my own feces and spread it around the ants with my hands and it seems to work. Lmao

I use a powder from Ortho called Ant-B-Gone.

I sprinkled it in the windowsills and around the base of the concrete steps to our patio, and around the base of the townhouse (outside).

The chemical dehydrates the insect.

I had ants really bad this year.

Fortunately, they stayed in the kitchen area.

I've tried Raid, Black Flag and other ant spray, but the ants were back within hours.

And then when I tried the powder, I've had no issue with the ants.

If you have pets or small kids, I would use one of those ketchup/mustard dispensers for better control of the chemical.

That way you can get it closer to the baseboards

Give 'em some Jack Daniels Whiskey and sand and when they get drunk they will throw stones at each other (sand) and kill each other off!

Actually lots of good ideas already offered here. Just had to add my 2 cents worth.

Here in Texas we use Ortho Max ant killer...it's a granule and available through most hardware stores and gardening stores.

Sprinkle boric acid around areas where ants get in, where they walk, or across their trails. Put the boric acid at your door threshold and around the sink drain pipe. Sprinkle it around the edges of the patio and around the base of the planter.

but seriously i read that if you put chalk around the house that keeps ants away. Also there is this great stuff called diatomaceous earth it kills ants like a champ. they eat it and bring it into their nests then the queen eats it and the whole colony dies. Only bad part is i noticed the ants brought their dead out into my home but at least i know they were dying.

ant traps for inside and outside the house - you can find them at stores like Home Depot or Canadian Tire or Rona. If you know where the anthill is, you can burn it out.
