Pharaoh ants are by far and large one of the toughest pests to rid yourself of. The nature of the way these ants inhabit a location is such that there is a multitude of mini colonies spread throughout the environment and usually multiple queen ants. Your best bet is to use a sweet boric acid based bait to deal with them - whatever you do, don't use a repellent bait as this will just make your problems worse. Don't remove the treatment just because you think they're gone... these guys will try to just weather the storm, so keep the bait out there. This can take weeks or sometimes even months to fully resolve this problem, but don't lose hope. It may be worth calling a professional as these ants are not easy to deal with.
