Are there cactus that are kinda, i don't know poisonous to you?

I mean not like literally poisonous but, just have a little stinging venom or something when you i don't know happen to put your hand on one?? hahah.. well like seriously, this weekend i was with my family picking pinons and i was crawling on the ground. Trying to be quick about it because it was raining. I wasn't watching where i put my hand and i put most of my pressure on a cactus. I don't know what kind of cacti is was but i live in the south west, new mexico to narrow it down. Northern part. so yeah i don't know hahah? is there so kinda of toxin that gets released when you accidentally stab yourself with its needles? Any ideas?

Yeah there is, which is why it'll still hurt once you take the sticker out. The needles release a poison that's supposed to irritate your skin.

well, its gonna hurt.

no matter what the cactus is, its supposed to be teaching whatever is messing with it a lesson.

(will you ever even accidentally touch one again? didn't think so)

so just make sure all of the needles are 100% out, and if it continues to sting even for a long time after that, i would see what was up.

but i think you're okay.

Certainly ...but as far as i know none of them are fatal.....there are some cacti that can even get ya drunk....they know what I'm talk in about down in Mexico.....i think the drink is called pulke...i don't now haw to spell it but it's pronounced Pool-Kay...something like that

Sounds like your hinting about tripping from cactus. your safe on that score, not going to be seeing blue bunnies any time soon

There aren't any venomous ones but some are poisonous (ie. if you eat them then you will become sick or die).
