i figure i would post it here since i have no idea where else to post it thanks in advance.
so we just bought a house in town and it seems we get our mail at anytime throughout the day, literally! on saturday it came some time after 8:30pm, leaving my rent deposit refund check in the mail box over night, and was only luck we found it on sunday since i had some extra xmas light bulbs in there so i could fix some lights in the morning.
anyone else have this issue? when i lived in chicago it wasn't this bad and in the country here it wasn't so bad either, mail was there everyday around noon, with the occasional late delivery but always before 5pm.

I have had the same kind of thing happen too. With us, it was because of staffing on certain days of the week (and the amount of mail that had to be delivered). You will probably find that the weekdays are more consistent. We had the issue in a larger metro area. We just made it a habit of checking the mail in the evenings, and that way, nothing got left overnight. Good luck! I know how annoying it is!

The "packages" at the post office gets delivered before the post office opens. The reason why there isn't a card or anything in your box is they haven't "processed" it yet. If you ask them if you have a package they can usually tell you, but not all the time.

As for "regular" letter mail, usually it gets delivered in 3 periods (Canada Post)

Once right in the morning, then around 12 noon, then at 3pm. (Estimates, actual times may vary due to workload)

Our mail comes some million:30-2:00 p.m interior the afternoon! lots of the time i will walk each and each of ways down the driveway, seem interior the mail container and it is generally empty. Then 5 minutes later the mail will come. that's a protracted walk to our mailbox.

Complain to the postal service! Receiving your mail so late in the night is not normal, nor is it acceptable. Especially if you have bills to pay. I always receive my mail before 2 pm and I live in Toronto, a massive city. That really does not seem normal to me.

It might even depend upon the particular mail carrier. The Saturday carrier isn't necessarily the weekday person. (At least, not here in Memphis.)
