hi today i have placed a deposit on a sofa from dfs and set up the 0% interest finance option for 3 yrs, im just a bit worried it wont go through as i dont have the best credit history but the guy said he does thousands of applications a day and mine looks a good strong applicationand looks promising and he cant see why there would be a problem. I asked him how long it takes to be approved or declined he said it can take up to 24hours and if it doesnt get approved i will be contacted by phone within 24hours anjd i would get the deposit refunded,
he did go over to the finance processing department while i was on the phone and there was no news he said no news is good news as normally if it was going to get declined it would get declined straight away.
well i set this arrangement up with them at 9.30 this morning and havent heared anything as yet so i am hoping fingers crossed it will go through. was just wondering if anyone else had been in a simular state to me ? any info would be great thanks

You say that you do not have a good credit history.

Are you sure you can make a commitment every month for the next 36 months. If you miss a payment they hit you with a massive interest chance, read the small print carefully.

There is no such thing as 0% credit. The credit company has to make a living some how, for example:

Sofa costs £500 it is really only worth £250, dfs sell the sofa to the credit company for £350 they give you "interest free" credit for £500 and make £150 profit from you. If you can save up and go back next year and offer cash you will get a much better deal.

You know there is a credit crunch, Well basically the financial service is being more stingy than normal. If you get rejected that's probably why.

On another note, did you know dfs stands for Dodgy F*****g Salesmen, Or Dodgy F*****g Sofa's...I know they are huge, but they are not the best sofas in the long run and I would warn you away from them in an instant. If it gets declined, try an independent. They truly value the customers with honest service and quality goods.

There stupid adverts make me wanna rip the TV out the wall and chuck it out the window. It's a conspiracy between companies. The DFS ads drive you so mad you wreck your TV then you have to take advantage of one of Dixon's or Curry's sales and get a new TV.
