I just got brand new windows last year, and a few people told me I can lock the window in open position, to avoid criminals lifting the window higher and come in. None of these people are able to come to my house and show me, I've asked around, and a lot of people are clueless. So how do I lock them in open position?
{The locks to lock them shut are at the top of the bottom part)

I do know what you are talking about. I have seen windows like this before, and it is a great feature that works well. I don't know what kind of windows you have, but open the window up a few inches, Then play around with the locking mechanisms on each side. Try pulling them upward or outward or something like that. If you can't figure it out, call the place that installed them, and ask. Good luck.
